#RAYRICE

Yesterday night the internet was abuzz with a leaked elevator video that showed NFL player Ray Rice hitting his then fiancee. He hit her, dragged her like a bag of akpu and a month after she became his wife.
If you know me well, you know i hate physical violence especially in a relationship. Whether its from the male or female partner. I don’t think anyone deserves to be physically abused irrespective of your gender.
But that's not the issue at hand. I'm concerned, why do people stay in toxic relationships?!

A man flogs you like a little child, drags you and your esteem on the floor of an elevator and one month after you exchange vows in front of family and friends making a mockery of God, wasting money and time just because you are suddenly uncomfortable with your father's last name and you think changing names will sort your issues?!
Truth be told, I am done sympathizing with people who remain in abusive relationships.
Someone slaps you, you open your mouth to cry,he shuts it with a diamond ring and you guys are swearing to spend eternity together,30 days after ?
He hits you again only this time he uses a blade to slice your lips and you take disturbing pictures and upload it on instagram and you expect the whole world to hold your hands and chant things like 'girl power ' and sing 'kumbaya,my Lord '?!
People who are in abusive relationships don't need sympathy, they need tough love!!
I see how he hits you and you call on God, to save you from this evil.. Leave God out of your shit!! Pack your bags and whatever is left of you and run!! God won't stop being God because you value your 'Mrs' title to your life!
Hey you in that relationship!!  You need to take responsibility for your damn life!!  You deserve a good life, you shouldn't be treated like dog poo.. You are called to a glorious life, start acting like it..
Love,
Ifeoma N.
